It’s true that Illinois is mostly pro-choice, with some of the safest abortion laws in the country. But those rights can never be taken for granted. Every year, every day, anti-choice politicians and activists try to take away those rights.

Abortion in Illinois Is Under Attack By Right-Wing Extremists
HB-40 prevents Illinois from automatically making abortion illegal and dangerous if Roe is overturned. Governor Rauner and right-wing politicians are trying to block or repeal HB-40, making Illinois a more dangerous state for all women.
HB-4108
Repeals HB-40 entirely, which means when Roe v Wade is overturned, Illinois instantly becomes an anti-choice state.
HB-4144 and SB-2241
Repeal HB-40, but also creates cruel restrictions on abortion care and even birth control.
